Men and women talking to one another on the internet within the limits of good manners

Image
Well a year from now one of my friend, a girl, had introduced me to one of her online brother..and we have been talkin online for about a year now. Its not like we have ever talked about anything indecent, we talk in a well respected manner, and he sometimes jokes around, too. We both are aware of our religion..and we know how it is haraam to have girlfriends or boyfriends. But over time we both hav grown interested in each other.. and he has told me that he wants to marry me, but right now is too soon, i m only 16 and will be 17 in 2 months... the situation is too hard to explain...and i am really confused on what should be done..and what shouldnt. I really dont want to do anything that is Haraam or isnt right.. and i do have faith in Allah..that if he is good for me oneday we will be together... So i just needed some advice on this.. is talkin to a non-mahram guy online wrong?.. And this is the only way we know each other which is through internet...we havent met..but we have...

Is Your Name Forbidden? Probably.

Image
Praise be to Allaah. there are names which we are forbidden to use, examples of which are as follows: It is forbidden to use any name which belongs only to Allaah, such as al-Khaaliq (the Creator) and al-Quddoos (the Most Holy), or names which do not befit any except Allaah, such as Malik al-Mulook (King of Kings). This is the consensus of the fuqaha’. Ibn al-Qayyim said that names which belong only to Allaah include: al-Ahad (the One), al-Samad (the Eternal), al-Khaaliq (the Creator), al-Razzaaq (the Provider), al-Jabbaar (the Compeller), al-Mutakabbir (the Majestic), al-Awwal (the First), al-Aakhir (the Last), al-Baatin (the Hidden) and ‘Allaam al-Ghuyoob (the Knower of the Unseen).  ( Tuhfat al-Mawdood , p. 98). The evidence that it is forbidden to call anyone by a name which belongs only to Allaah, such as Malik al-Mulook (king of kings), may be seen for example in the hadeeth narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with hi...

cheat in exams

Image
I am asking you a question about cheating.I have know friends who are muslims and are  cheating and I also have been cheating and helping others into cheating too.I know that it is haram but the only reason why I cheat sometimes is because my family excepts me to do very well in school and sometimes when I dont cheat I sometimes get bad scores, but not all the time I do cheat and also this is the same reason that's goes with my friends since they are scared of their family since they might be strict on him for not having bad grades, and we would like to know on how to stop our selfs from cheating and how to deal with our family if our grades are horrible since our family will make a big deal that we got a horrible grade. We sometimes try to stop ourselfs from cheating but we can't help it,please do help us in this situcation. كيف نبتعد عن ظاهرة الغش في المدرسة أثناء الامتحانات ، إننا نغش طمعاً في الحصول على درجات عالية. إن من يدفعنا لذلك هم آباؤنا ، إننا نخاف أن ن...

The prostration of the universe to Allaah

Image
Praise be to Allaah.   Note that this universe and all the created beings in it is in thrall to Allaah, whether by choice or by force. The believer worships Allaah by choice and is rewarded for his worship. Even though the kaafir may be alienated from his Lord and failing to worship Him, the atoms of his body and everything in him is worshipping Him and glorifying Him, but because our understanding and perception are limited, we are unaware of that tasbeeh (glorification of Allaah) and unable to understand its nature. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):  “The seven heavens and the earth and all that is therein, glorify Him and there is not a thing but glorifies His Praise. But you understand not their glorification. Truly, He is Ever Forbearing, Oft-Forgiving” [al-Isra’ 17:44]   What this means is that every created being is in a state of submission to Allaah and worships Him in a manner appropriate to its situation. The sun, moon, stars,...

shake hands with a non-mahram woman

Image
Is it permissible to greet woman by shaking hands if they put part of their hijab over the hand of the man who is greeting them?. Praise be to Allaah.  It is not permissible for a man to touch in greeting the hand of a woman who is not his mahram, even if she covers her hand with her garment, because of the hadeeth narrated by al-Bukhaari in his  Saheeh  from ‘Urwah, from ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her), in which she told the story of how the women gave their bay’ah (oath of allegiance) to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). She said: “No, by Allaah, his hand never touched the hand of any woman when accepting the oath of allegiance, all he said was, ‘I accept your oath of allegiance on this basis.’”  And Ahmad narrated with a saheeh isnaad from Umaymah bint Raqeeqah that she said: “I came to the Messenger of Allaah (S) with other women to give the oath of allegiance to him, and he accepted our p...

Etiquette of Eid

Image
Praise be to Allaah.   The Sunnahs that the Muslim should observe on the day of Eid are as follows:  1 – Doing ghusl before going out to the prayer.  It was narrated in a saheeh hadeeth in  al-Muwatta’  and elsewhere that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar used to do ghusl on the day of al-Fitr before going out to the prayer-place in the morning.  Al-Muwatta’  428.  Al- Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said that the Muslims were unanimously agreed that it is mustahabb to do ghusl for Eid prayer.  The reason why it is mustahabb is the same reason as that for doing ghusl before Jumu’ah and other public gatherings. Rather on Eid the reason is even stronger.  2 – Eating before going out to pray on Eid al-Fitr and after the prayer on Eid al-Adha:  Part of the etiquette is not to go out to pray on Eid al-Fitr until one has eaten some dates, because of the hadeeth narrated by al-Bukhaari from Anas ibn Maalik, wh...

Muslims must help each other

Image
It is mentioned in a Hadeeth (narration) that there are slaves of Allaah the Almighty whom He has assigned for fulfilling the needs of others. He made them love goodness and endeared goodness to them and they will be saved from the torment of Allaah the Almighty on the Day of Judgment. Who are these slaves? All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad   is His Slave and Messenger. This Hadeeth (narration) was narrated in Al-Mu‘jam Al-Kabeer, compiled by At-Tabaraani   and in Musnad Ash-Shihaab. However, it is a Dha‘eef Hadeeth (weak narration). There are no specific slaves whom Allaah the Almighty distinguished to fulfill others' needs. There are many Hadeeths that encourage Muslims to help each other. The Prophet   told us that a Muslim is a brother to his fellow Muslim; he should not wrong nor harm him but rather support him. Anyone who he...
